Senior Underwriter

We are seeking a highly experienced BTL Underwriting Manager to join our team at Stellar Select. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the operational performance of the underwriting team for the group BTL proposition.

You will work closely with the risk function to define risk policies, procedures, and strategies, as well as develop and manage the underwriting team to capitalise on loan opportunities while maintaining credit disciplines and minimising credit losses.

• Manage and develop the underwriting team.
• Ensure SLAs are maintained and exceeded.
• Develop and promote clear standards of performance within underwriting.
• Implement training and ensure adequate records of staff training and competence are maintained.
• System owner of BTL origination platform which includes helping develop effective systems and processes providing specifications and UAT.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Extensive experience leading, developing, and managing a team of underwriters.
• Superb people and communication skills.
• Takes ownership and responsibility and is results-orientated.
• Experience gained with a Buy to let Lender, ideally a specialist lender.
• Experienced being a mandated underwriter.

The estimated salary for this position is £62,000 per annum based on industry standards and the location of Hertfordshire.
