About the Role
The Quality Assurance specialist will form part of the Risk, Quality and Assurance team at Porterbrook. The team is responsible for corporate and project governance, risk management, and audits of Train Operating Companies, suppliers, and internal Porterbrook processes. The role will be focused on performing external audits and in-process inspections at TOCs and suppliers, with the aim of identifying and addressing any potential risks or areas for improvement.
Responsibilities and Skills
- Conduct regular audits of TOCs and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Identify and assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Provide support to the Audit Manager in generating audit scopes and tendering for audit services
- Maintain accurate records of audit findings and recommendations
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001:2015
- Provide training and guidance to colleagues on quality and risk management procedures
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective implementation of quality and risk management strategies
Requirements and Qualifications
- A degree in an engineering discipline or relevant industry experience
- A registered Lead Auditor
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
