Curriculum Area Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Curriculum Area Manager to lead our Hair, Beauty, Barbering & Business provision at Bradford College.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the curriculum meets the needs of students, the business, and the community, and that students receive an outstanding learning experience. This will involve providing inspirational leadership for staff and students, embedding our values of Respectful, Inclusive, Trust, Inspirational & Aspirational, and ensuring quality, recruitment, staffing, and financial targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the performance, development, and well-being of curriculum area staff, including setting targets, monitoring KPIs, and managing attendance and recruitment.
  • Deputise for the Head of Department as required.
  • Ensure full compliance with College procedures and systems, and report on these via KPIs.
  • Liaise with the Head of Department to deploy the curriculum area budget efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage the physical resources of the Curriculum Area and maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Contribute to the collegial culture, mission, and strategic objectives of the College.
  • Support the Head of Department in planning, innovation, design, and development of curriculum provision and cross-College marketing activities.
  • Manage the guidance, selection, admission, and progression of students, and deal with matters relating to their performance, achievement, conduct, and discipline.
  • Ensure that 16-19 provision within the curriculum area meets the requirements and guidelines for study programmes, including compliance with maths and English conditions of funding and work experience.
  • Ensure planning and delivery of AEB, NSF, and Loans funded provision meets target enrolment and budget allocation annually.
