We are seeking an experienced Site Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team at the Troon sawmill site.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in good manufacturing practice and lean principles, with experience in heavy industry and mechanical or electrical engineering.
You will be responsible for all maintenance work, including mechanical and electrical tasks, automation, site projects, and maintenance systems. You will also work closely with operations to manage the Troon sawmill production capacity and deliver on the Group's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Maintenance team of fitters and electricians to achieve high performance process efficiency
- Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills
- Ensure the Maintenance function operates to the required Health, Safety and Environmental standards
- Plan and develop PEMAC / CMMS systems to deliver maximum line/process efficiency
- Implement best plant practices in process engineering & maintenance systems
- Develop the Maintenance team's capability and skills, leading performance reviews, training and individual on the job coaching
- Develop Maintenance Lean Systems using tools and techniques to meet continuous improvement targets
About you:
- Qualification in Engineering – mechanical & electrical background, or related field or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Minimum 10 years' maintenance/engineering management experience is essential
- Sawmilling or heavy industry experience is an advantage
- Knowledge of maintenance strategies e.g. RCM, TPM, Asset Management is desirable
- Able to lead by example, with a 'can do' approach, passion and energy
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Very strong organisation skills and attention to detail
- Drive to exceed goals and push self and others towards high levels of performance
This role offers a competitive market salary, plus a complete benefits package, including pension, employee assistance programme, retail discounts, and more. The estimated annual salary for this position is £55,000 - £65,000 depending on location and experience.
