Chief Inspector/Associate Director (Regulation)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Inspector/Associate Director to lead our regulation and inspection activities. As a key member of our Quality Assurance and Regulation Directorate, you will provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure independent, robust, and proportionate external quality assurance in health and social care services in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct effective regulation and inspection of independent healthcare services
  • Oversight of compliance with the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) across NHS and independent healthcare services in Scotland
  • Provide authoritative advice, guidance, and constructive challenge to improve local and national service provision
  • Work constructively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of delivering high-quality and rigorous quality assurance in a health and social care or similar complex environment
  • Registered healthcare professional with significant experience of working in a senior clinical management role
  • Credible leader and natural communicator with strong values base and focus on quality of care for patients and service users
