About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Genetics Consultant to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in providing expert genetic services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical care to patients with genetic disorders, including triaging referrals, conducting clinics, and offering advice to GPs and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings with colleagues to support the mainstreaming of genomic medicine.
  • Engage in clinical supervision and education of junior medical staff and genetic counselors.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical audit programs to improve patient care.
  • Support the training and development of mainstream clinicians in genomic medicine.
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Completion of a specialist training program in clinical genetics or a related field.
  • Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
