Human Factors Specialist

As a Senior Human Factors Specialist at TÜV Rheinland, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our strategy for growth in high hazard industries. This includes expanding our client base and revenue while supporting and leading existing and new Human Factors projects.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide Human Factors support to various projects across all sectors, including rail, oil and gas, clean energy, and defence. Some examples of previous projects include:
- Rail: assisted in the roll out of four new classes of unit for a rolling stock manufacturer, involving physical ergonomic assessments, user trials, and alarm assessments.
- Oil and gas: conducted a systematic Human Factors review of an offshore jack-up drilling rig to ensure its design meets UK North Sea operations standards.
- Clean energy: performed a Human Factors review of inclined boat landing ladders accessing offshore wind turbines.
- Defence: developed a human factors integration plan for a fuel manufacturing plant.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Human Factors/Ergonomics or a related subject.
- Chartered Ergonomist & Human Factors Specialist certification (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of applied Human Factors/Ergonomics experience, or 2+ years in the Nuclear sector.
- Flexibility to travel internationally.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- UK security clearance (or ability to achieve).
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
