About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our Microsoft Cyber Engineering Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting Microsoft Defender and Sentinel, designing and refining engineering standards and best practices, and conducting periodic Microsoft healthcheck assessments, audits, and architecture reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Implement and support Microsoft Defender and Sentinel
  2. Design and refine engineering standards and best practices
  3. Conduct periodic Microsoft healthcheck assessments, audits, and architecture reviews
  4. Work alongside SOC Analysts to improve the detection of security incidents
  5. Research and implement new technologies that can be used within the SOC
  6. Deploy automation throughout the SOC to improve the overall operational effectiveness of the SOC
  7. Assist with the triage of incidents alongside others
  8. Draft reports and customer-facing documents to a high standard
  9. Stay up to date with the latest cyber vulnerabilities
  10. Assist with the development of more junior members of the team where required
Requirements
  1. Any relevant Microsoft Certifications
  2. Solid background as a Security Engineer / SOC Engineer
  3. Ability to lead and design automation/scripting in SIEM Tools
  4. Experience with SIEM solutions such as Azure Sentinel, Splunk, McAfee, Rapid7, LogRhythym etc
  5. Ability to design and document security processes
  6. Analysing cloud security risks and threats, performing cloud security audits and assessments, and recommending cloud security controls
