Job Description

Project Planning and Controls Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Planning and Controls Specialist to join our team at Rolls-Royce Submarines. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for maintaining schedules, creating and managing Control Account Schedules, and providing planning process support to the wider delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain schedules for assigned work scope in line with the Submarines monthly planning cycle.
  • Create and manage Control Account Schedules that reflect the work required to deliver customer or business requirements.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all planning & scheduling methodology and processes adopted within the assigned team.
  • Work with key stakeholders to capture project work scope, in line with customer requirements.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to Planners across the business.

Requirements:

  • Project Planning and Controls (PPC), or the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) desirable.
  • Demonstratable experience within a similar position/entry level qualification (HNC or Foundation Degree) desirable.
  • Experience of developing schedules within a complex environment.
  • A willingness to become an associate or full member of the APM.
  • Strong knowledge and skills of scheduling software (Primavera P6) and subsequent functionality.
