About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a special needs Secondary school in Waterlooville. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide individualised support to students with a variety of special educational needs, fostering their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with learning needs, assisting in the implementation of individualised education plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, Special Education Coordinators, and other professionals to support students effectively.
  • Foster a positive and supportive relationship with students to promote their well-being and engagement.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a holistic support system.
Requirements
  • Willingness and openness to working with students in a one-on-one setting and in small groups who have learning difficulties.
  • Capability to arrange educational activities based on student proficiency with assistance from a teacher.
  • Development of social skills and assistance with individual needs.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Providing counselling and academic help.
  • Experience working with young individuals with special needs is preferred.
