As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all stages of the design process, from initial concept to final construction drawings. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of design professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive design strategies that align with project requirements and client expectations.
  • Review and assess construction drawings for buildability, technical accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of management and project teams to ensure clear understanding and coordination.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the design process.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely completion.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum Level 4 (HNC/NVQ4 etc.) Architectural qualification or equivalent design, technical, and/or construction-based qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the design and detailing of mixed-use residential led schemes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant construction industry practices, legislation, and procedures.
  • A valid driving license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Passion for construction and customer satisfaction with a focus on high standards and excellence.
  • Proven track record of design requirements for procurement and construction purposes.
  • In-depth knowledge of contractual requirements, section agreements, and utility application processes.
  • Tenacious and driven personality.
  • Strong practical knowledge of construction work types, methods, and design solutions.
  • Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit).
  • Knowledge & understanding of BIM.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., CIOB, CIAT, or RICS).
  • Experience of Building Safety Act relevant works
  • Experience of retrofit works
