Job Title: Welding Manager

SGS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welding Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the welding department and ensuring the highest levels of customer service and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the welding department and ensure the efficient operation of welding activities
  • Develop and implement quality procedures and standards to ensure compliance with ISO 17020 and ISO 17025
  • Lead the team in providing high levels of customer service and ensuring contractual requirements are met
  • Contribute to the development and achievement of sales through the direct sales channel to key account clients
  • Act as the key interface between SGS and welding clients
  • Lead business from a technical perspective relating to welding activities
  • Support business in maintaining ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 accreditation
Requirements:
  • HNC and/or formal qualification in welding technology
  • CSWIP Level 3.2 (SWI)
  • Inclusion on company register of approved invigilators through successful completion of written in-house exam and accompanied on-site invigilation of a joining procedure or qualification
  • Clean Driving License
Desirable Qualifications:
  • PCN Level 2 in Weld Inspection
  • IWE
  • Qualification as an International/European Welding Specialist
  • Registration as an Engineering Technician with the UK Engineering Council
  • Degree educated in relevant discipline
  • Achieved or working towards Chartered Engineer status
