Lead Government and Public Affairs at the National Composites Centre

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our government and public affairs efforts at the National Composites Centre (NCC). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with national and regional government, as well as business and industry networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Deliver a Government and Public Affairs Strategy: Proactively develop and deliver a strategy that builds the NCC's profile in Westminster, Whitehall, and with business and industry networks.
  • Thought Leadership and Policy Development: Deliver thought leadership and develop robust policy positions on innovation and industrial strategy. Gather, maintain, and use knowledge from across the innovation policy and political environment to inform NCC's activities and organisational strategy.
  • Strategic Account Management: Act as a Strategic Account Manager with HM government departments, national funding organisations, arms-length government bodies, and business networks.
  • Crisis Communications: Anticipate and react to breaking news stories, issuing swift, robust, and appropriate responses at short notice and under pressure.
  • Collaboration and Alignment: Work effectively with the 'Head of Public Affairs – Regional and Research Partnership' to ensure national-local alignment and join up NCC teams and communications colleagues to deliver an aligned, organisation-wide approach.
