Climate Change Innovation Lead Role

At Nesta, we are seeking a Climate Change Innovation Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a portfolio of climate-related prizes, creating new ideas, securing partnerships, and unlocking funding to drive meaningful change.

The Role: As the primary expert on climate response innovation within the Challenge Works team, you will lead the development of a portfolio of related prizes, exploring opportunities across mitigation and adaptation, and identifying integrated approaches. You will have the flexibility to shape the portfolio, working with our team of researchers, designers, programme managers, and comms experts to deliver high-impact solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a strategy for the climate response theme, exploring new areas where prizes can have an impact.
  2. Make connections and build partnerships with ambitious organizations, securing funding to take new ideas forward.
  3. Oversee and grow a portfolio of multi-million-pound climate response challenge prizes, providing strategic leadership, solving problems, and driving opportunities across complex programmes.
  4. Lead and support programme delivery teams, ensuring the implementation of best-in-class innovation practices, continuous improvement, and methodologies.
  5. Contribute to thought leadership by working with our research and communications teams to create compelling content, promote our work, develop and nurture networks, and build partnerships and programmes to support prize delivery.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: £75,400 - £85,300 per annum, plus excellent benefits.
  • Location: London, Blackfriars, with a hybrid working arrangement.
  • Term: Permanent.
  • Hours: Full-time, with the option to work 80% for the right candidate.
