About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stores and Logistics Manager to join our team at NHS Lanarkshire. As a key member of our Procurement and Logistics Department, you will be responsible for delivering professional Stores and Logistics services across our health board divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a complex service providing operational stores, transport, and logistics services across NHS Lanarkshire.
  • Manage the effective management and staffing of Stores and Logistics services, including a Ward Product Management service and local receiving points at each acute district general hospital site.
  • Develop and implement effective processes and systems to ensure goods are available and delivered to meet end-user requirements.
  • Manage the relationship with the NHS Scotland National Distribution Service and develop operational best practices to ensure the service meets delivery requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and procedures relating to Stores and Logistics operations.
Requirements
  • Education to degree level in a relevant discipline, plus a relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in a senior procurement or logistics management position.
  • Experience in the field of Stores and Logistics in a complex organization, with a good working knowledge of modern procurement systems and an aptitude for achieving objectives in an area of intensity and competing demands.
  • Knowledge of managing transport services, including legal compliance in the operation of vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA license for travel between sites.
