Overview

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Robertson Group. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Your New Role

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation and negotiation of sub-contract agreements to maximize profit
  • Attending and contributing to internal team meetings, taking minutes as required
  • Maintaining master files of correspondence on contracts
  • Preparing interim valuations with senior surveyors and agreeing amounts for payment
  • Valuing work executed and materials on site
  • Re-measuring work using site measurement, measurement from drawings, and information from site agents/bonus department
  • Informing sub-contractors of contract variations and valuing variations
  • Pricing dayworks and providing cost advice to design consultants
  • Reporting to the Chief Surveyor on job performance via cost/value comparisons
  • Preparing surveying reports for the Chief Surveyor
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Complimentary relevant industry work experience
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A methodical approach
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Basic health and safety knowledge
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in relevant computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel)
