Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Automation Technician to join our Automation Control team at BAE Systems. As an Electrical Automation Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support to existing systems, modifying PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, and documenting amendments in line with BMS requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing technical support to existing systems to support operations
  • Modifying PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, and documenting the amendments in line with BMS requirements
  • Updating/upgrading existing control systems and modifying existing processes to add new functionality
  • Performing planning maintenance activities and maintaining system backups
  • Responding to breakdowns and completing breakdown reports to support maintenance in the creation of Planned Predictive Maintenance plans
  • Providing support to the roll out of security driven changes, and acting as a liaison between operations and security teams
  • Working within high standards of Health and Safety, whilst ensuring the quality of the product is maintained
  • Leading and supporting Continuous Improvement activities and initiatives
Requirements
  • Time served - 4 Year Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or similar) Apprenticeship
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of programming PLC, and HMI systems
  • Proficiency and ability to program robotic systems
  • Background in working with automated manufacturing processes
