Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Clinical Psychologist to join our team in community learning disability services across Cambridgeshire. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessment and interventions for adults with learning disabilities and their families/carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide NICE-compliant specialist psychological therapy and advice on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and other non-professional carers
  • To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the teams' policies and procedures
  • To utilise research skills for audit, policy, and service development and research within the area served by the teams
Working Environment

This role involves working with service users who have a learning disability in supported living, residential settings, and in their own homes. There may be lone working in community environments, and it is essential that you follow relevant safety protocols. You will also be required to travel across Cambridgeshire, which may involve driving and using your own vehicle.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or an equivalent qualification
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and their families/carers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £83,443 per annum, plus benefits including annual leave, pension scheme, and training and development opportunities.
