Your New Role

As a Health & Safety Specialist, you will play a vital role in strengthening our commitment to safety across the UK. You'll work closely with project teams and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on health and safety matters, addressing a range of specialist areas such as CDM regulations and risk assessments for engineering projects.
  • Contribute to bids and tenders by incorporating robust health and safety considerations.
  • Conduct internal audits of office facilities and projects, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures.
  • Stay abreast of evolving legislation and industry standards, maintaining an up-to-date legal register.
  • Evaluate suppliers from a health and safety perspective, ensuring they meet our rigorous requirements.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO45001 management systems.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health & Safety Specialist who possesses a strong understanding of relevant regulations and best practices.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor.
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations within a design consultancy environment.
  • Experience conducting internal audits (IRCA lead auditor certificate preferred).
  • Understanding of implementing management systems to ISO45001.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK for project visits and audits.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH National General/Construction certificates.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, such as IOSH.
