Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and manage a team of depot staff, including drivers, stores staff, team leaders, and assistant managers.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve depot performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure the depot operates in accordance with health and safety regulations and standards.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure all customer deliveries are made on time and to the required quality standards.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Operations and Logistics
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the depot, including inventory management, stock control, and transportation logistics.
    • Implement efficient processes and systems to improve depot productivity and reduce costs.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of depot staff.
    • Ensure all staff receive regular feedback and coaching to improve performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure the depot operates in compliance with all relevant regulations, including food safety and health and safety standards.
    • Maintain accurate records and reports to demonstrate compliance.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in a depot management or logistics role.
    • Experience in the dairy or food distribution industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
    • IOSH certification is an asset.
