About the Role

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is seeking an experienced individual to join its Council as an Independent Member. As a valued member of the Council, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the institution, ensuring its continued success in public health research and education.

Key responsibilities include participating in Council meetings, reviewing reports, and providing expert advice on governance matters. Your input will play a crucial role in shaping the institution's future, aligning with its mission to improve health and health equity worldwide.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong understanding of Higher Education governance, strategic leadership experience, and a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

What We Offer

This is a non-remunerated role, and you will be able to reclaim expenses incurred in the course of LSHTM business. The Council meets four times a year, with most committees meeting four times a year. Appointments are made for a three-year term, with the possibility of re-appointment for a further three years.
