Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the company's financial and accounting operations through a comprehensive set of controls and accounting measures to maintain and improve the financial health of VA Technology Ltd.

Reporting Structure:

Directly responsible to Susie Bergin, Director of Commercial Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated management accounts and financial reports.
  2. Financial Process Management: Ensure the financial processes, systems, and controls are operating correctly and efficiently.
  3. Chart of Accounts Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date chart of accounts for the company group.
  4. Financial Transaction Management: Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
  5. Financial Analysis: Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies and provide variance analysis and commentary to budgets/forecasts.
  6. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company's long-term cash flow requirements.
  7. Commercial Insurance Management: Manage the company's commercial insurance requirements.
  8. Financial Guidance: Provide financial analysis and guidance to department managers on performance status.
  9. Supervision: Supervise accounts department administrators.
  10. Foreign Exchange Management: Monitor and manage foreign exchange.
  11. Accounting Filing Systems: Maintain orderly accounting filing systems.
  12. Business Operation Reviews:
    1. Financial Controls: Provide financial controls to department managers.
    2. Financial Performance Improvement: Take a direct lead in improving financial performance as part of Business Operation Reviews.
    3. Business Process Improvement: Work with department managers to improve general business process and procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Senior Accounts Experience: Demonstrated experience in a senior accounts role within a business environment.
  2. Communication Skills: Good communication skills with the ability to liaise financial information.
  3. IT and Reporting Skills: Solid IT and reporting skills.
  4. Budgeting and Risk Management: Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management.
  5. Data Analysis and Forecasting: Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models.

Qualifications:

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
