About the Role

We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join our team at Binnies, an RSK Group Company, as part of our @one Alliance. In this role, you will be working as a key member of a multi-disciplinary project team, providing civil engineering technical expertise and design capabilities to develop and deliver water and water recycling solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce civil designs, calculations, and specifications to 'Issued For Construction' standard for water, wastewater, or pipeline projects, collaborating closely with CAD technicians to create 3D models or 2D drawings.
  • Contribute to the production of designs that meet project requirements, timelines, and budgets, interacting with stakeholders, including Operations, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Drive excellence in Health and Safety by identifying and mitigating hazards and risks during the design phase, adhering to Alliance CDM procedures.
  • Support project progression from feasibility through detailed design to construction stages.
  • Undertake site visits to assess current asset conditions for feasibility studies, report findings, and provide survey data for integration into design solutions.
  • Assist in updating existing and developing new Standard Products used within our design solutions for repeat applications.
  • Identify and promote opportunities to meet project objectives in digital innovation, sustainability, and people development.

About You

Ideally, you will hold a minimum of a HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or demonstrate relevant experience. You should have experience in designing various civil engineering structures within the Water and Waste Water Industry, be proficient in using MS Office and relevant engineering design software, and be familiar with British Standards and Eurocodes.

You will be able to interpret ground investigation reports to inform your design decisions. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with a range of people to meet and exceed stakeholder expectations.
