The Children's Diabetes Service is a multidisciplinary team that works tirelessly to improve the quality of life of children and young people with diabetes. As a Pediatric Diabetes Educator Lead, you will play a vital role in delivering structured education to children with diabetes and their carers, while continuing to develop, update, and evaluate formal curricula for each specific structured education program.


The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions that cater to the diverse needs of children and young people with diabetes. You will work closely with key members of the multidisciplinary team to schedule and allocate sessions, communicate with families, and other organisations.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Deliver structured education to children with diabetes and their carers.
  • Develop, update, and evaluate formal curricula for each specific structured education program.
  • Work closely with key members of the multidisciplinary team to schedule and allocate sessions.
  • Communicate with families and other organisations.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of care provided.

Requirements:



  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, such as diabetes education.
  • Proven experience in delivering structured education to children with diabetes.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
