Job Summary:

We are seeking an exceptional Diabetes Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with diabetes. You will work closely with our clinical teams, families, and other stakeholders to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

About the Role:

  • Provide specialist nursing care and management to children and young people with diabetes
  • Use clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making skills to make informed decisions about patient care
  • Be clinically competent in all areas of advanced practice and equipment use relating to childhood diabetes
  • Participate in regular reviews of the multidisciplinary team's responsibilities as a service provider
  • Work cross-site within East Kent and participate pro-rata in the Out of Hours telephone on-call service for children, young people, and their families

Requirements:

  • Must have good knowledge and understanding of the management of childhood diabetes
  • Experience working with children and young people with diabetes is essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
