Refuse Collector

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Refuse Collector to join our team in Coalville, North West Leicestershire. As a Refuse Collector, you will be responsible for loading refuse and recycling vehicles to facilitate the collection of controlled waste and recyclables under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

About the Role:

• Perform loading duties safely and in accordance with Road Traffic Act and health and safety requirements.
• Function as banksman to the driver to help with reversing and manoeuvring the refuse lorry.
• Exercise proper care in handling, operating, and safeguarding any equipment, vehicle or appliance provided, used, or issued by the Council to use in the performance of your duties.

Requirements:

• Previous experience of manual working.
• A basic standard of numeracy and literacy.
• Excellent communication skills.

What We Offer:

• An estimated salary of £12.43-£12.72 per hour (rising after 12 weeks).
• A Day shift schedule from Monday to Friday.
