Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant machinery or similar industries, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a quality service environment. You will be responsible for undertaking detailed inspections, carrying out standard diagnosis tests, producing comprehensive lists of parts and materials required for machine preparation work, and overseeing the overhaul, repair, or refurbishment of machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake thorough inspections of machines to confirm or expand on any initial field inspection reports, enabling commercial assessments of likely repair, replacement, or refurbishment work.
  • Conduct standard diagnosis tests on machine components to provide accurate cost evaluations or issue condition and warranty agreements to customers.
  • Produce detailed lists of parts and materials needed for proposed machine preparation work.
  • Oversee the overhaul, repair, or refurbishment of machines, including removing and dispatching components for specialist attention, reinstalling original or replacement parts, or repairing original parts.
  • Inspect and test completed machines to ensure they operate at expected performance levels.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Flexibility, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, work accuracy/numeracy, and quality-oriented approach.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business.

  • Effective problem-solver with strong analytical skills.
  • Practical knowledge of tooling and specialised equipment to conduct repairs on difficult and heavy machinery.
  • Knowledge of rigging, slinging, and jacking procedures.
  • Electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical fitting expertise.

  • Salary: £35,000 - £39,800 per annum.
