Solotech is a global leader in live productions, systems integration, and virtual technology. We are seeking an experienced Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetics of our live production loudspeaker rental stock, flight cases, and dollies. They will also fabricate custom metal and woodwork as required and support the Building Maintenance & Health and Safety Manager in the general upkeep of our UK sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing standards and schedules of work and the execution of equipment maintenance programs.
  • Scheduling and maintaining the annual repair program of the live productions loudspeaker stock, including flight case repairs.
  • Maintenance of the Paint Booth Equipment (pressure pots/top loaders).
  • Estimating project costs and managing budgets.
  • Routine maintenance work, such as painting, repair of movable property, carpentry, plumbing, lighting change, etc.
  • Making minor repairs and liaising with tradespeople when major repairs need to be made.
  • Planning, overseeing, and/or undertaking maintenance to external building works and car parks.

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Insightful in identifying problems within H&S and buildings maintenance.
  • Understanding of laws and regulations governing buildings.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of health, safety, and risk management.
  • Understanding of current health and safety legislation, management, and standards.
  • Knowledge of heating appliances and systems, electricity, plumbing, fire safety.
  • Availability to respond to emergency calls and travel as needed.
  • Flexibility to work reasonable extra hours as required in addition to your normal hours of work for the proper performance of your duties and as necessitated by the needs of our business.
  • Good administration skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Extensive experience in the building trade.

Desirable skills and experience include:

  • A certificate as a skilled worker in one or more trades.
  • COSHH qualification.
  • IOSH qualification.
  • Audio industry experience.
