Operations Director

Rutherglen and Cambuslang Foodbank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to oversee all aspects of the Foodbank and ensure its smooth operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers to support the Foodbank's operations.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the Foodbank meets Health and Safety standards.
• Coordinate the logistics of food collection, storage, and distribution to Distribution Centres.
• Manage the volunteer rota to ensure the best use of volunteers.
• Work with existing referrers, funders, volunteers, and supporters to grow the Foodbank and identify problems through regular visits and liaison.
• Undertake regular talks to referrers and donors to raise Foodbank awareness and funds.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental regulations for both warehouse and Distribution Centres.
• Produce Foodbank reports and statistics for the monthly meeting and Trustees.
• Monitor the users of the Foodbank through the network database and minimize any potential or actual abuse through liaison with referrers and Distribution Centre volunteers.

Requirements:

• UK driving licence.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience of managing volunteers and teams.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental regulations.

Training and Development:

• Foodbank governance, administration, and operations.
• IT training, as required, with specific databases and tools used by Rutherglen and Cambuslang Foodbank.
• Health and Safety, including manual handling.
• Environmental Health.

Salary: £17.5k to £19.5k per annum.
