Claims Handler Specialist

Our client in Bristol has a permanent opportunity for a Claims Handler to join their team.
This is a full-time role working Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00. The successful candidate will be based in the Bristol office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage claims made against professionals, including investigating cover, assisting insured professionals, responding to claims, and reporting to insurers.
- Negotiate settlements within delegated authority, ensuring commercial and fair resolutions.
- Proactively manage a caseload to avoid unnecessary litigation and achieve effective outcomes.
- Maintain accurate data on the case management system and support reporting to insurers.
- Implement insurer reserving policies and ensure claims are handled fairly, using approved external suppliers.
- Identify trends and escalate risk information to the Head of Claims and insurers.
Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in claims handling.
- A keen desire to build a career in claims handling and insurance.
- Commercial, proactive approach with the ability to meet client needs and deadlines.
- Effective at building collaborative relationships with clients, intermediaries, and suppliers.
