Job Title: Head of Repairs

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to head our repairs and maintenance division, overseeing schemes across Merseyside and Lancashire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of repairs and maintenance for our social housing properties, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Lead the division with an operational and commercial mindset, ensuring the team is aware of contract obligations and how they can influence profitability.
  • Ensure that all projects are set up with company governance maximized, production control in place, and productivity regularly monitored.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to ensure each contract runs in accordance with the brief and their high expectations.
  • Attend client progress meetings, providing feedback, progress, and KPI data as requested.
  • Procure work by maintaining and developing contacts in the industry, with direct involvement in the strategic thinking applied to the Unit's tenders.
  • Work with key supply chain partners to ensure all Operating Framework compliance details are in place before commencement of any projects.
  • Monitor and approve financial forecasts, ensuring the best cost planning information is provided.
  • Drive compliance and operating excellence throughout the division at all levels.
Requirements:
  • Ability to regularly commute to offices and schemes across Merseyside & Lancashire.
  • Proven experience in a senior repairs or maintenance management role, preferably within the social housing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance, construction, and repair processes.
  • Relevant construction, housing, or safety-based qualifications.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations, building codes, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience leading large teams and managing external contractors.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and resources effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
