**Role Overview**

As a Relationship Development Director at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in establishing and nurturing profitable partnerships with corporate clients. Your expertise will bridge the gap between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Manage client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance.
  • Research industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Design customized solutions addressing clients' specific needs and objectives.
  • Communicate value proposition, justify recommendations, and negotiate terms.
  • Provide guidance on financial decisions, risk management, and wealth management strategies.
  • Assess financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships.
  • Document client interactions, transactions, and agreements for transparency and auditability.
  • Monitor client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics.

**Vice President Expectations**

  • Contribute to strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes.
  • Deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • Lead teams, define jobs and responsibilities, and plan for departmental future needs.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive.

**Requirements**

  • Excellent market knowledge, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a corporate business environment and grasp of corporate banking products.
  • Strong business development skills, including understanding customer needs and negotiation skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mandatory Risk policies and procedures.

This role is based in Staffordshire, and all colleagues will be expected to demonstrate the Barclays Values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship, as well as the Barclays Mindset to Empower, Challenge, and Drive.
