Job Title: Adult Autism Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at a specialist school for pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work across 3 school sites in Brent, planning and delivering effective therapy programmes for pupils aged 3-19.

About the Role

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work closely with teachers and leaders to develop and implement therapy plans tailored to the needs of each pupil. Your role will involve:

  • Planning and delivering one-to-one therapy sessions with pupils
  • Supporting small groups or whole classes as needed
  • Offering structured, weekly sessions to pupils or in-the-moment therapeutic support

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, support staff, and other therapists to provide a comprehensive support system for pupils with complex needs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be an HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist with:

  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of speech and language therapy and wider therapies
  • Understanding of mental health in children, adverse childhood experiences, trauma, and the impact of abuse and mental health difficulties on child development, attachment, and behaviour
  • Understanding of child development, learning, and children with SEND
  • Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
