The University of Essex is seeking an experienced Tax Assistant to join its Finance Planning and Data Insight Section. This exciting opportunity will enable you to develop your skills in taxation and VAT, working closely with the Tax Manager to ensure compliance with current tax legislation and guidelines.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for finance. As a Tax Assistant, you will be responsible for reviewing financial transactions, preparing and submitting VAT and Corporation Tax returns, and researching ways to optimise the University's tax affairs.

Your Skills and Qualifications

• AAT qualified (or working towards the qualification)
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to work with technology and data
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a generous holiday entitlement of 28 days, pro rata for part-time staff. The University will also support your Professional Development through funding study towards AAT or CCAB qualifications.
