Job Overview

REE Automotive is seeking a highly skilled Brakes Performance Engineer to support our rapid growth and contribute to the development of our revolutionary electric vehicle platforms.

This is a 6-month contract position based at our UK test facility, with potential for travel to overseas test locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute vehicle testing plans to ensure the performance of our braking systems meets program-specific attribute targets and timing.
  • Design and write test procedures for development and performance sign-off criteria, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Perform vehicle testing activities, including data collection and analysis, and provide detailed reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement braking system designs, including DFMEA and DVP requirements.
  • Lead benchmarking activities to identify best practices and optimize braking system performance.
  • Provide technical expertise to internal stakeholders, including V&V, SW, and controls teams.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in complex engineering environments, with a focus on braking system development and testing.
  • Expertise in Vector software, vehicle test instrumentation, and logging.
  • Experience with brake-by-wire systems and actuation is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of braking system attributes, foundation brakes, controls/SW, and homologation requirements.
  • Excellent test planning and reporting skills, with the ability to manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
