About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fitness Operations Manager to join our team at Kings Gyms (Iceking). As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of our fitness facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Gym Manager in the smooth running of our fitness facilities, including line management of fitness personnel and responsibility for legal compliance, including Health and Safety.
  • Act as Duty Manager for the Gym, in the absence of the Gym Manager, and be responsible for targeting improvements in service delivery.
  • Record and monitor daily safety checks on all equipment, report any hazards, and ensure works are completed.
  • Support with tours of the facilities and the "selling" of memberships, and monitor deliveries, goods in and out, and Biffa collections.
  • Deal with complaints, angry customers, and club emails, and provide great communication and leadership on our Slack Platforms.

What You Will Achieve

  • You will deliver a customer service-focused culture across the Kings Gym operation, listening to and communicating effectively with all our members.
  • You will be competent and confident in the use of all equipment in the gym, and offer and provide advice, motivation, and support as required to all users.
  • You will carry out gym inductions for members and guests to ensure safe and effective use of all equipment, and motivate and encourage members to ensure repeat custom.
  • You will make sure all members are following the Kings Gym Rules.

  • You will guide, train, and motivate people, managing their performance and delivering a culture of development and performance.
  • You will work effectively with people, developing productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • You will ensure that your personal knowledge and skills are updated to ensure effectiveness in meeting work objectives.

General Duties

In addition to the above, all employees have the following general duties laid out in their job descriptions:

  • Provide customer service through interacting with members, assisting with queries, selling merchandise, upgrading memberships, educating participants on how to use equipment, and answering questions.
  • Ensure the fitness area remains clean and organised, and communicate with members to keep the facility tidy.
  • Actively supervise the gym floor, completing regular floor checks.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace behind the counter.
  • Act in a professional manner by upholding Kings Gym policy when involved in conflict management with members and staff.
  • Perform opening/closing procedures of the fitness floor and cardio areas.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and team training sessions.
  • Actively market and promote current facilities and programs as per your manager's request.
  • Maintain a standard of performance on daily tasks.
  • Communicate clear and concise information as needed to members, emergency medical service personnel, and police services where required.
  • Adhere to all Kings Gym guidelines and any reasonable request from your line manager or the senior leadership team.
