About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Summerleaze Veterinary Hospital. As a SVN, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide nursing care to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being
  2. Assist Vets and Nurses in restraining animals for treatment, using gentle and humane techniques
  3. Clean, walk, and feed patients, maintaining a clean and safe environment
  4. Prepare emergency and operating facilities, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
  5. Contribute to general cleaning and maintenance duties, promoting a clean and safe working environment
  6. Run internal lab samples, providing accurate and timely results
  7. Answer emergency calls, responding promptly and professionally
  8. Cover the receptionist desk, handling queries, booking appointments, and processing payments
Requirements
  1. Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to empathize with clients and animals
  2. Excellent customer service skills, with experience in dealing with members of the public
  3. Experience in a Veterinary environment, with a strong understanding of animal welfare
  4. Currently enrolled on a Veterinary Nursing course, with a passion for animal care
  5. Resilient and able to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
  6. A positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills, with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
