About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our procurement and contracting team as the Head of Strategic Development and Implementation. This is a key role within the NHS North East London Integrated Care Board, responsible for providing strategic procurement advice and delivering high-quality procurement services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to the procurement team and functions, ensuring responsive and visible service delivery.
  • Manage, negotiate, and govern all procurement activity conducted on behalf of customers.
  • Lead assurance processes to ensure procurement is undertaken professionally and delivered to a high standard.
  • Develop and implement change programmes, such as consolidating procurement and contracting teams into a single service.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team, ensuring it is commercially focused and operates to best practice.
  • Develop the Procurement Service leadership capacity and plan for post-holder succession.
  • Raise the profile and awareness of procurement services within the ICB and its stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Education to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level qualification.
  • Successful management of large-scale change projects.
  • Experience of operating in and delivering priorities in a partnership environment.
  • Proven leadership experience and significant management experience at senior level in the NHS or other public healthcare related industry.
  • Development and maintenance of multiple productive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a Healthcare environment, specifically in strategic procurement and/or contracting.
