NHS Dumfries & Galloway's innovative WINGS (Women Individually Nurtured Grow Strength) team is seeking a dedicated Midwife Practitioner to provide comprehensive care and support to pregnant women with complex social needs.
About the WINGS TeamShortlisted for Excellence In Midwifery for Public Health RCM awards 2024, the WINGS team delivers non-judgemental, individualized midwifery care within a community setting. We collaborate closely with families and multi-agency partners to improve outcomes for mothers, babies, and their families.
Your Role- Provide continuity of care throughout the antenatal and postnatal periods, ensuring consistent support and guidance.
- Deliver health promotion, signposting, and support tailored to address factors that may impact a pregnant mother's ability to parent.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including Social Services, Child Protection Advisors, Family Nurse Partnership, and voluntary agencies such as Women's Aid.
- Build trusting relationships with vulnerable women and their families, offering personalized care and advocacy.
The WINGS team strives to provide streamlined and consistent support for women experiencing complex social issues during pregnancy. Our goal is to ensure good continuity of care, promote consistent wellbeing advice, facilitate early and relevant signposting to partner agencies/third sector services, and ultimately improve outcomes for women, babies, and families.
