Setting Out Engineer Job Description

MGR Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Setting Out Engineer to join their established Surveying team working primarily in the Midlands on HS2 projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize modern survey methods and survey devices such as total stations, GNSS, and data collectors to ensure accurate and efficient surveying operations.
  • Establish and maintain survey controls, setting out gridlines, levelling, traversing, and other land surveying tasks.
  • Record surveying information on site to the agreed specification and scope, ensuring high-quality data collection and processing.
  • Process field data into the office, post-processing with software such as AutoCAD, to deliver accurate and reliable results.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to assist with quoting for jobs and ensure seamless project execution.

Requirements:

  • Experience in setting out and land surveying, with a strong understanding of survey methods and devices.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
