Job Title: Orthodontic Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthodontic Consultant to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hold full GDC Registration and GDC Specialist Registration at commencement
• Possess a certificate of accreditation or eligibility for a CCST in orthodontics or equivalent
• Have completed an Intercollegiate speciality fellowship Exit Examination in Orthodontics, or within 6 months of ISFE, or equivalent before commencing consultant post

Desirable Qualifications:

• MSc, MFGDP

Essential Experience:

• Current holder of an NHS or honorary NHS consultant contract in orthodontics are eligible to be shortlisted
• Successful completion of an SAC approved 2-year minimum training programme in a Fixed Term Training Appointment, or Orthodontics, or within 6 months of completion of training, or equivalent, which follows on from the pre CCST training period of 3 years, or equivalent
• Applicants who are Nationals from another European country, or elsewhere overseas would have to show equivalence to the 5year training period in the NHS required for speciality

Key Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively
• Clinical judgement: experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk
• Evidence of participation in audit
• Experience of postgraduate and undergraduate teaching at an appropriate level
• Proven ability to work effectively in different clinical settings required
• Management skills
