Vehicle Technician

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle & Plant Technician to join our team on a 3-month contract with the possibility of an extension.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking MOT tests on class 4, 5, and 7 vehicles, as well as taxi testing to council standards. They will also be required to inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles, plant, and equipment, including other repairs and modifications that require specialist skills and experience.
Main Responsibilities:- Undertake a wide range of tasks in the vehicle workshop, requiring specific knowledge and skills.
- Perform scheduled inspections and services to vehicles and equipment to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
- Conduct safety and maintenance inspections of vehicles and equipment operated by contractors to the Council.
- Complete accurately all other appropriate and required records, including timesheets and driving hours.
- Identify, locate, order, and collect parts and materials as required.
