Job Overview

To work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing, Divisional Director of Operations, and Medical Director to achieve the division's key performance targets, leading effective and efficient delivery of operational and clinical services with a focus on clinical excellence, strategic planning, and resource deployment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and support specific portfolios/projects to ensure quality of care, excellent patient experience, and financial sustainability.
  • Support the Divisional Director of Nursing in developing the strategic direction for the Division, working with the Divisional Senior team to deliver excellent nursing care.
  • Provide clinical leadership, inspiring and empowering nurses within the Division, ensuring optimal deployment of nursing and midwifery staff.
  • Lead delegated work streams, working in partnership with the Directorate Nursing teams to ensure compliance with the Trust's strategic direction and the Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Professional strategy.
  • Support the Divisional Director of Nursing in Trust-wide developments and service transformation to meet the changing needs of staff, patients, and stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife.
  • Evidence of significant professional and managerial development.
  • 1st level degree or equivalent.
  • Recognised teaching and assessing certificate.
  • Substantial experience and achievement in a senior clinical nursing role.
  • Evidence of delivering complex change involving wide engagement.
  • Demonstrable experience of people management, including chairing capability/disciplinary hearings.
  • Experience of holding staff to account for poor performance and being accountable for the delivery of clinical/nursing services.
