Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team as a CAMHS Practitioner. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in assessing and supporting children and young people referred to the service.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive CAMHS assessments to identify mental health needs and create care plans.
- Provide initial screenings and triage appointments to prioritize care for children and young people referred to CAMHS.
- Manage cases for young people awaiting treatment, contributing to specialist care plans that address a range of presenting mental health challenges.
- Develop treatment or management plans using evidence-based methods, tailored to the unique needs of each child or young person across different care settings.
- Conduct risk assessments and manage risk for individual children and young people, offering advice to other professionals on best practices.
- Act as the case manager, taking responsibility for initiating, planning, and reviewing CAMHS care plans in collaboration with young people, their families, carers, and professionals involved in their care.
- Communicate treatment plans and updates sensitively to children, young people, and their families, while also monitoring their progress throughout the treatment process.
- Participate in the local duty rota, providing urgent support when needed, which may include working as part of an evening clinic.
- Offer support to parents and young people who seek help between clinic appointments or during times of crisis.
- Maintain close collaboration with schools and other involved agencies to ensure coordinated care for the young people in your caseload.
- Take on other relevant nursing responsibilities as needed, contributing to the broader work of the CAMHS team.
- Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
- Proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Valid NMC Registration
