We are working with a provision in the NG13 area that is seeking a dedicated and resilient teaching assistant to join their team from September 2024.

The school provides education for children with SEMH and other SEN, and we are looking for someone who can make a positive impact on the lives of these students.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working with special educational needs and be able to build relationships with children who struggle to engage in lessons.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with pupils, leading small group interventions, and contributing to the wider goals of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis to support their learning and well-being
  • Leading small group interventions to support pupils working below age expected levels
  • De-escalating situations where challenging behavior has arisen
  • Liaising with senior staff to discuss pupil progress
  • Contributing to the school's goals and objectives
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with special educational needs
  • Ability to build relationships with children who struggle to engage in lessons
  • Good sense of humor and ability to work in a challenging environment
