We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Reconciliation Specialist to join our team at BlackRock. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our reconciliation processes, which is critical to our business operations.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial services and reconciliation processes, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They will work closely with our Asset Servicing Reconciliation Team to identify and resolve any discrepancies in our position data, ensuring that our investment book of record is reconciled with the custodian, manager, client, and/or prime record holders on a daily basis.
This role requires a high degree of attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and have experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
Responsibilities- Perform daily reconciliation tasks, including control reports, position break resolution, inbox and dashboard monitoring, client and portfolio data maintenance, and daily subscription/redemption activity.
- Provide high-quality client service externally and internally, addressing inquiries, performing controls, resolving problems, and mitigating risks for clients and internal BlackRock partners.
- Prepare and review reconciliations between BlackRock, Asset Manager, and Custodian Bank.
- Maintain existing accounts to reflect client or account level changes.
- Assist in special projects and initiatives to improve the service offering.
- Raise all material risk items and service issues on a timely basis.
- Coach and mentor team members to encourage high individual performance and service standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or similar field.
- Understanding of upstream processes impactful to reconciliation and ability to correlate the effect of change.
- Flexible and open to new challenges; able to work effectively and efficiently on multiple projects at a time in a complex, demanding, and constantly evolving environment while maintaining the highest standard and attention to detail.
- Data analytics skillsets preferred, inclusive of coding (VBA, SQL, PYTHON, Power BI) and/or understanding of data science methods & implementation.
