About the Role: Advocate for Vulnerable Adults and Children

NYAS is seeking a dedicated Advocate for Vulnerable Adults and Children to provide high-quality advocacy services to patients in need.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with patients who have complex needs. They will work collaboratively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Represent patients in discharge meetings, ward rounds, and multi-disciplinary team meetings
  2. Develop and implement individualized advocacy plans to support patients' goals and aspirations
  3. Compile comprehensive written reports to document patient progress and recommendations

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Independent Mental Health Advocate (OIA) with specialist unit 306
  • Proven track record of working with vulnerable populations, including children, young people, and adults with mental health conditions
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices in mental health advocacy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Salary: Estimated annual salary £48,000, based on experience.
