We are seeking a highly skilled Capacity and Flow Manager to join our team at North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will be responsible for project managing the development of referrals, capacity and flow within the Division.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Project Manage Capacity and Flow Within the Division: Project manage the development of referrals, capacity and flow within the Division.
  2. Process Mapping and Elimination: Use lean principles to examine process mapping and eliminate waste in the system.
  3. Additional Project Work: Take on additional project work related to increased capacity and flow and other projects as directed by the Division.
  4. Network Panel: Attend the Network Panel.
  5. Daily Summary: Maintain a daily summary of the current levels of capacity within the Division and maintain the service user's database.
  6. Liaise with Colleagues: Liaise with colleagues across the organisation to effect maximum use of bed capacity within the Division ensuring compliance with the bed occupancy standard laid down within the service specification and CQUIN targets.
  7. Flow Monitoring: Monitor the flow of service users through the services to enable you to monitor and contribute to the contract monitoring with Commissioners.
  8. Clinical Governance: Liaise with the Clinical Governance team to address issues affecting the quality of care as part of managing capacity & flow.
  9. ICB and Specialist Commissioning: Attend meetings with the ICB and Specialist Commissioning to provide information regarding service user activity, waiting lists, referrals and delayed discharges.
  10. Performance Reporting: Be responsible for collecting and validating information, which forms part of the performance reporting system to both the Trust and Specialist Commissioning.
  11. Service Improvement: Establish positive working relationships with colleagues in similar positions across the network, and identify opportunities for, and take action to deliver service improvements.
  12. Dashboard Development: Assist in the development of the Dashboard for capacity and flow performance within the Division.
  13. Evaluation: Work with medical and clinical managers and Clinical Audit to evaluate the efficacy of the CPA process.
Requirements
  • Business or Health Management: Educated to Degree level in business or health management or equivalent experience.
  • NHS Commissioners: Extensive experience of working with NHS Commissioners, building.
  • IT Skills: Able to demonstrate well-developed IT skills and use of Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Project Management: Able to demonstrate evidence of effective project management and understanding of service line management.
