Claims Adjuster

About the Role
As a Claims Adjuster in our Yacht Practice, you will play a critical role in investigating and settling marine insurance claims. Your expertise will be essential in determining the validity of claims, negotiating settlements, and ensuring that our clients receive fair compensation.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process new claims, ensuring timely and professional handling
- Manage and coordinate claims, instructing and controlling surveyors, lawyers, and other experts as necessary
- Attend meetings with insurers, reinsurers, brokers, claimants, and other stakeholders to discuss claim details and negotiate settlements
- Prepare detailed reports on claim investigations, including legal and policy liability considerations, potential quantum, and future actions
- Communicate regularly with all parties involved, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports, and other communications
- Calculate and agree on claim settlements, preparing accurate final reports
- Conduct market research and stay up-to-date on key marine market developments and trends
- Work closely with the team to promote the Yacht Practice and wider marine services to existing and potential clients
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients
- Travel as necessary to attend key business development and marketing events
- Identify and refer business leads to management
- Promote CTA Marine services internally throughout the group, achieving cross-selling wherever possible
Requirements
- Higher-level education in a relevant field of study
- A minimum of 4 years of loss adjusting experience
- An enthusiastic, flexible, and adaptable approach to work is essential
