Engineering Workshop Assistant

My well-established client, a leading engineering company, is seeking an experienced Engineering Workshop Assistant to join their skilled team. This role has become available due to a promotion within the company.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with relevant experience or someone looking to transition into the engineering industry and benefit from comprehensive in-house training.

If you are new to the engineering industry, you must be eager to learn and willing to stay on the shop floor for the medium term, acquiring the skills and knowledge to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cutting and assembling aluminium fabricated frames
  • Assisting with the installation of robotic systems
  • Operating workshop machines, including saws and pillar drills
  • Occasional travel to customer sites in the UK
  • Very occasional work at weekends required
  • Painting completed fabrications

About You:

  • A strong background in an engineering or mechanical setting is an advantage, although not essential, as comprehensive in-house training will be provided
  • A willingness to learn and punctuality are essential
  • A full UK driving licence is required
  • You must be willing to travel to customer sites in the UK on occasion (expenses will be paid)
  • A counterbalance forklift licence is an advantage, although not essential, as training will be offered
  • Be happy to work a 40-hour week and work overtime as and when required
